When I originally saw this post, it really hit me hard...⁣⁣ ⁣ @beautifulplumtree is the mother of a promising former viola student of mine,(@solomonleonard.official), who also happens to be African American. I can’t even imagine how black mothers must be feeling in light of recent events.⁣ ⁣ Not only are they trying to keep their kids safe from a lethal virus that’s killing our people much more than any others in this country, but they also have to live in fear of their children’s safety from almost daily rampant domestic terrorism.⁣ ⁣ The level of ignorance in regards to race in this country baffles me. I personally could give two sh*ts about the color of skin you may have, as it’s an exterior to what you really are inside. After all, we all look the same sans skin, 𝐁𝐔𝐓 our exterior is what brings about the beautiful elements of culture in our society. This should be celebrated, not obliterated.⁣⁣ ⁣ All those who are committing these crimes out of hate and fear, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Be it a police officer, a hate crime offender, calculated murder, or anything that takes an innocent life should not be tolerated. There can’t be special treatment for people who work in law enforcement either. It’s quite simple...If you kill someone, you should be held accountable.⁣⁣ ⁣ If we continue to turn a blind eye to this issue, we will lose even more innocent lives in our communities in tandem with the pandemic. How many more people need to die under the guise of “enforcing the law”⁣ ⁣ I’m asking everyone of you to stand up and demand justice for the senseless genocide of my people that has been happening for more than a few centuries.
